What a cute monkey! He just needs to be more proportionate so he doesn’t look so crazy 🙂 I would trim down his ears some and level out his eye area. This money cake was made from a 12 inch round and 2- 8 inch round. It was iced in chocolate buttercream. Than details were piped on using black, white, and tan buttercream.

Jungle Scene Cake
This is our jungle scene cake and it has a lot going on, it has a combination of airbrush work and different piping. What I would change about it would be small details. I personally like the placement of the animals on the cake. However they should be hiding in a assortment of different green foliage. I would add more trees and maybe a different color shell border just so it all fits together better.

Baby Carriage Cake
The baby carriage cake is a popular item. Everyone seems to enjoy the look of this cake. I however always feel that I could be doing it better. I finally feel that I got the wheels right and with a little bit of practice with my piping technique they will be completely round. I feel that I need to make the cradle part smaller so the handle and the umbrella part could be bigger or at least more proportionate to the rest of the carriage. I used 6 inch round cakes for the wheels. The other part of the cake is pound cake. Pound cake for me is much easier to shape than layer cake.
Tie Dyed Airbrushing Instructions
In this picture the customer wanted a tie dyed pattern. I find airbrushing this pattern particularly hard to do on cakes as it never seems to turn out exactly the way I imagined it will. This cake in particular I decided that if I airbrushed in a circular w pattern around the cake it would give me the effect I was looking for. It kinda did however I realized that next time I should probably layer the colors differently so the effect could be better. Also next time I need to leave room for a little white to show through on my cake as this is how I always remembered tie dyed shirts to be.

You Can’t Decorate But I Can
I am really sick and tired of people telling me how to do my job. I know how to decorate cakes. I know what is going to look good. If I tell you that those two colors do not match, they probably don’t. I follow trends in the industry, flavors of cakes, and decorations. The newest wedding cake style, I know about them too. So it really bugs me when I go into work and one of the owners tells me that I am doing something wrong or not the right way. Do they know how to do this? Nope! Can they even do something as simple as icing a cake? Nope! So just leave me alone.
If I tell you that it is not possible for a picture to be drawn on a cake, believe me. If I tell you that I can not create a tiered cake like the person wants, I can’t. I know my talents and what I can and can not do. I’m just pre warning you that if I say I can’t and you take the order anyway, it may not be just like the customer wanted. That’s your fault.
I am open to hearing suggestions. It may just help me if I’m in a funk. Â Suggestions are always welcome from anyone and everyone. I do not know everything but I do know a ton more than them. That is why they hired me. So let me do my job and you do yours please.
